Akintayo’s background includes a bachelor’s degree in Architecture obtained at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, where he worked on the construction of the following projects; 10 floors mixed-use development in Lagos Nigeria, Design and construction of a Skill Acquisition Centre in Osun-state, and Renovation / Landscaping of Osogbo city stadium. Akintayo acquired a Master’s degree in Construction project management at the University of the West of England. Akintayo has acquired lots of experience in the UK by working on projects which adhere to United Kingdom standards both in construction and management.

Jack has had a large construction background from completing his Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating at Preston College, to then gaining experience in drainage surveying. Jack then completed his Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship at Preston College with Identity Consult.

Matthew is a Director of Identity Consult and heads up the North West office in Preston. Prior to joining Identity Consult, Matthew was Regional Education Sector Leader within Turner & Townsend’s North West office and a multi-award winning Project Manager, winning the APM Project Manager of the Year award in 2010 and RICS North West Project of the Year in 2014. Matthew has over 15 years experience and has successfully delivered projects across a wide range of sectors including Education, Local Government, Affordable Housing, Health, Regeneration and Heritage. Previously he has led the redevelopment of Liverpool Central Library (£50m), Edge Hill University’s capital programme (£80m) and the redevelopment of the University of Manchester’s Fallowfield campus (£200m).

Chris joined Identity Consult in September 2021 having spent the previous 20+ years within the industry and most recently working for Turner & Townsend and Steel River Cost and Project Management Ltd in the Tees Valley. Chris was also involved in the ITT Process for the Phase 1 elements of the Main Works Civils Contracts for HS2. Chris’ experience extends through all aspects of cost control of capital projects from early feasibility stages through procurement, commercial management, and project handover and close out. Christopher is currently undertaking assistant cost management duties for Identity Consult. Christopher completed an industry placement year as part of his studies where he undertook a variety of different roles including PM, QS and site manager duties on refurbishment schemes around the North East with a local property development company.

Christopher joined Identity Consult in April 2021 following months of volunteering at a local COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Christopher left college following his AS Level results and ended up in an apprenticeship at a property developer within the Northeast working towards a Level 3 NVQ in Construction and the Built Environment at Newcastle College. Following this Christopher signed up to Northumbria University to complete a Foundation Built Environment degree eventually progressing along the route of Quantity Surveying.

History
Before joining Identity Consult Dan worked for several playground and landscaping companies as a Project Manager delivering over 100 projects across the UK. Having then carried out a series of residential refurbishments and conversions for a private landlord Dan decided to undergo his Masters and gain experience as a surveyor, spending the next 2 years’ in the public sector working as an estates surveyor for a local authority.

Greg has over 15 years of experience working in the construction industry and since joining Identity Consult in 2018 has continued to work across a number of different sectors including Higher Education, Local Authority, Health and Commercial, leading a variety of different project in size and complexity. Greg also has experience in the Housing Sector delivering Traditional Construction as well as Volumetric Construction and homes utilising Sustainable Technologies.
Alongside his project work at Identity Consult Greg is an APC Councillor and Supervisor and also sits within a number of different sector groups adding value into overseeing current and future projects.
History
Greg hails from an ‘on the tools’ background having worked as a Contractor for several years before undertaking his BSc (Hons) in Real Estate. Greg then worked for a leading retail surveying practice in the North East before making the move back to the construction industry.

James joined Identity Consult at the beginning of 2022 hoping to broaden his project exposure and challenge himself. James is currently working on a variety of interesting and challenging projects across the residential and higher education sectors incorporating BIM and sustainability, both of which are of personal interest to him.
History
Before James joined Identity Consult, he worked for independent developers as a freelance Project Manager, working on a variety of projects from housing to student accommodation. During this period James was also managing his families’ development company, at which he successfully managed and delivered a number of executive level housing schemes from inception through to post occupation, meeting potential buyers such as Allen Shearer, Jonjo Shelvey and Chris Ramsey he notes as highlights during this time.

While working freelance James embarked on a Masters Degree in Construction Project Management with BIM at Northumbria University, with the ultimate goal of supporting an expediated route to Chartership. In 2022 James successfully achieved a distinction in this course, adding to his previous Masters in Physics, and has now embarked on his RICS APC, with an aspiration to be charted by the end of 2023.

James describes himself as a keen golfer (hit and miss), triathlete (of limited capability), skier (when uninjured) and rugby fan (reminiscing over years as a player) . He is likely to be found exploring the Northumberland coast or beaches of Tynemouth on a weekend with his wife. Kayleigh works across several different areas of project management with more notable experience working on projects in Education, Local Government, Regeneration, Mixed Use Development as well as the Arts/ Heritage sector. She also has experience working in local government as the client project manager to support regeneration and economic growth projects. Alongside her project management and contract administrator role, Kayleigh assists with delivery of post occupancy evaluations and provides internal support to Identity Consult for marketing and bid opportunity activities. Her previous experience of working both in the public and private sector enables her to manage complex stakeholders in multi-disciplinary environments to meet client objectives and key grant funding stipulations.
History
Kayleigh joined Identity Consult in July 2018 after working for Turner & Townsend in Leeds. This involved primarily delivering Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England grant funded projects within the arts and heritage sector but she also worked on secondment at Yorkshire Water within the Health and Safety. Prior to project management Kayleigh worked as a museum’s conservator in various different institutions across the UK and abroad. This included working on research projects funded by organisations such as Historic England and providing collections care consultancy services to accredited SME museums in the North East. She has also provided higher education technical support for the Art Conservation Masters programme at Northumbria University. Kayleigh holds a BSc Hons in Natural Sciences; Chemistry with Archaeology and an MA in Conservation.

Layla is a Charted Quantity Surveyor and is part of Identity Consult’s Employer’s Agent and Cost Management team. Layla has experience in delivering both new build and refurbishment projects ranging in value from £250k to £50m. Layla predominantly works within the Higher Education and Healthcare sectors and has gained invaluable experience through her involvement in the delivery of a number of complex projects.
History
While born in the UK, Layla grew up in the Middle East and later moved to Australia. In Australia Layla was employed by a local construction company, which ultimately sparked her interest in pursuing a career in Quantity Surveying. Layla joined Identity Consult’s Cost Management Team in 2019 after graduating from Northumbria University with a first class BSc in Quantity Surveying. Layla opted to complete an industry placement as part of her studies where she gained a wide range of experiences with a local Main Contracting organisation.

Luke originally graduated from Northumbria University with a degree in Quantity Surveying in 2011 and worked as an Asbestos Surveyor for 3 years before returning to quantity surveying for Identity Consult in 2014.

Mark Joined Identity Consult in October 2019 having spent the previous 20 years working for both Gardiner & Theobald and Turner & Townsend. Marks experience extends through all aspects of cost control of capital projects from early feasibility stages through procurement, commercial management and project handover and close out. Mark has extensive experience across a wide range of sectors including Industry and Manufacturing, Higher/Further Education, Health, Sports & Leisure, Heritage and Commercial.

Mark joined Identity Consult when the company was formed in 2006, having previously worked for Faithful & Gould. Mark was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2009 and led the Management Buy Out in 2018 to be appointed as our new Managing Director.

Mark takes personal satisfaction in seeing a project through to its completion, from being involved in the initial concept stage to delivery and having the ability to experience the evidence of his contribution in the form of a final product. Mark is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and leads our Employer’s Agent and Cost Management team based in the Sunderland Office. He is experienced in the delivery of new build and refurbishment projects across both Public and Private sectors ranging in value from £100,00 to £80M, under both JCT and NEC Forms of Contract. He has previously operated as a Project Manager and has worked on the Contracting side, enabling him to draw upon these experiences when dealing with complex project issues, commercial matters and selecting the right procurement strategy to suit particular project requirements. Mark also plays a lead role in our training and development, helping staff achieve their ambitions of becoming MRICS qualified.
History
Mark joined Identity Consult as an Associate Director in 2018 from Gardiner & Theobald where he spend almost 20 years progressing from Graduate to Senior Associate. In 2019 Mark was promoted to Director and joined the Identity Consult Board of Directors.

Mat recently joined Identity Consult assisting in the provision of quantity surveying and employer’s agent services across the education, residential and commercial sectors. His role entails estimating and cost planning, tender reporting, contract administration and cost control, interim valuations, cost reporting and final account preparation.
History
Previously a teacher, holding the post of Head of Computing & Business, Mat is studying his MSc Quantity Surveying at Northumbria University. During his time teaching he progressed quickly into middle management and developed into a successful leader with a track record of achieving results. Prior to teaching Mat was Vice President Finance & Commercial Services at Northumbria Students’ Union responsible for business performance and commercial strategy.

History
Nathan graduated from University in 2018 and began his career working in the public sector for a Local Planning Authority for 5 years before joining Identity Consult Planning. In his previous roles he has gained an understanding of the planning system through dealing with a wide range of complex minor and major planning applications.

Nigel has also been assisting Gateshead Council identify and progress delivery solutions for a number of their housing sites as well as recently working alongside Durham County Council with their early Master planning, community consultation, appraisal & developer engagement for the regeneration of Horden.

Nigel joined the Identity Consult team 2021 and brings over 25 years’ experience working within the housing, regeneration & placemaking sector. He is the Local Authority Lead for the company and has successfully delivered a range of complex multi-stakeholder projects for various Councils, ranging from public realm projects through to new cinemas and leisure facilities. From his previous roles, he also has expertise in housing development and regeneration and brings these skills together to manage the development of deliverable and commercially viable masterplans for Clients.
History
Pete joined Identity Consult in 2008 from Erimus Housing where he led the Development Team and prior to that worked for Sunderland’s regeneration agency, Sunderland arc. These roles mean Pete has wide ranging Client-side Project Management and Development Management expertise which he can use to provide additional support to Clients.

Peter is based in our Sunderland Office and is a member of the Quantity Surveying team. During Peter’s time at Identity Consult, he has been involved in a wide range of projects including university refurbishment schemes, new build apartment complexes and urban regeneration throughout the North and the rest of the UK. Peter provides both Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveying services for his clients.
History
Peter joined Identity Consult in July 2019 after previously working for Turner & Townsend in Teesside. This primarily involved delivering heritage refurbishment projects for Durham University in and around the Durham Cathedral and Castle UNESCO World Heritage Site. Peter also worked on secondment at Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK, as sole Cost Manager responsible for all construction works being undertaken on the Sunderland Plant. He oversaw the successful delivery of the £6m refurbishment of the existing XL Press machine and the £400k extension to the Body Shop. Another of Peter’s secondments was at AstraZeneca’s New World Headquarters in Cambridge where he was agreeing historic M&E packages.

Pippa delivers schemes both pre and post contract for Higher Education, Local Authority and Residential clients and provides Post Occupancy Evaluation services for Higher Education clients across the North of England and Yorkshire. Pippa is a member of IC’s Social Value working group and leads Identity Consult’s Charity of the Year initiative, organising various fundraising events each year.
History
Pippa joined Identity Consult in 2019 after relocating from Central London where she worked for multinational construction consultancies. Pippa gained multi-sector project management experience across the delivery of landmark heritage buildings, high end hotels, education facilities, airport development and zoo conservation programmes. Inspired by her father’s exciting and long-standing career in development, Pippa joined the construction industry in 2014 and graduated with a BSc (Hons) Building Surveying from University College of Estate Management.

History
Richard has the benefit of professional experience in both the public and private sector, having started his career at a Local Planning Authority before working at a senior level for a national developer. Moving back to the north east in 2017, Richard joined a well-established property consultancy, where he successfully set up and lead the planning team.

Sam started his career career working as an in house planner for a development company specialising on property, energy , waste and mining project. Sam then moved into consultancy working on a wide variety of projects nationwide for large multidisciplinary and specialist planning practices. Alongside Sam’s previous work experience he has also been the Regional Chair of the North East Royal Town Planning Institute.

Alex joined Identity Consult in 2017 from Trafford Housing Trust where she was a Senior Development Manager, leading a team of projects managers. As part of this role Alex was instrumental in establishing the development team and subsequently the affordable and private sale brands.

Chris joined Identity Consult in 2021 after spending some c.15-years providing Building & Project Management consultancy services to a range of private and public sector clients. Chris started his career as a Building Surveyor, where he gained many years’ experience in the delivery of complex refurbishment projects. Hayley joined Identity Consult in October 2024 as Office Manager and Bid coordinator, and she is part of the Business Infrastructure Team.
Hayley has extensive experience as a senior NHS administrator, executive PA, and team manager. She has also provided project support to multiple NHS contracts.
In her role at IC, Hayley will assist the directors and the wider team, whilst also managing the end-to-end process of preparing and submitting bids or proposals for new business
opportunities. She will also undertake the office manager role for the North West teams.

With over 15 years of experience providing high-level administrative support to senior managers and consultants in the NHS, Hayley brings a wealth of knowledge in office
systems administration, and redesigning new ways of working to improve processes.

Holly first joined Identity Consult in January 2024 on a work placement whilst attending college, but officially joined the company as an apprentice in September 2024. Holly has previously studied Construction and the Built Environment Level 3 at SCC City Skills. Holly has always had an interest in construction, inspired by her grandfather.

Justas has started his career as a junior setting out engineer. Through his hard work and dedication, he quickly moved up the ranks and became an assistant setting out engineer. Justas has worked on a wide variety of projects in different sectors, including education and residential developments.

Originally from an Architect background, Liz has over 18 years’ experience in the construction industry, including 7 years in Education, 5 years in Residential, and 6 years in Student Development and Industrial.
Her knowledge extends across a wide range of project sectors, sizes (from £2k to £80million), and from inception to completion of a building project. This gives Liz a unique overview to achieve the best results for her clients and projects.

Previous experience in underwriting for a car finance lender, giving him some good transferable skills for this new role. He has also worked in a collections role alongside his underwriting role demonstrating he is able to adapt quickly to new roles.

Kate joined Identity Consult in January 2022 after working as the Business Quality Lead & Business Support for UK NEQAS, a service providing external quality assurance and education for pathology laboratories across the UK and Internationally. Prior to this, Kate has had roles working as the Quality Lead & Complaints Manager for a large department within Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, Personal Assistant to the Deputy Director of Quality at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, where she also acted as an out of hours and additional PALS Officer.

Outside of work, Kate plays in a Brass Band. Whilst this takes up a number of evenings a week, Kate always finds time to walk her two dogs, Kenny and Oscar, and explore the country with her husband in their campervan.

Mark is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and leads our Employer’s Agent and Cost Management team based in the Sunderland Office. He is experienced in the delivery of new build and refurbishment projects across both Public and Private sectors ranging in value from £100,00 to £80M, under both JCT and NEC Forms of Contract. He has previously operated as a Project Manager and has worked on the Contracting side, enabling him to draw upon these experiences when dealing with complex project issues, commercial matters and selecting the right procurement strategy to suit particular project requirements. Mark also plays a lead role in our training and development, helping staff achieve their ambitions of becoming MRICS qualified.

Mark joined Identity Consult as an Associate Director in 2018 from Gardiner & Theobald where he spend almost 20 years progressing from Graduate to Senior Associate. In 2019 Mark was promoted to Director and joined the Identity Consult Board of Directors.

From his previous roles, he also has expertise in housing development and regeneration and brings these skills together to manage the development of deliverable and commercially viable masterplans for Clients.

Pete joined Identity Consult in 2008 from Erimus Housing where he led the Development Team and prior to that worked for Sunderland’s regeneration agency, Sunderland arc. These roles mean Pete has wide ranging Client-side Project Management and Development Management expertise which he can use to provide additional support to Clients.

Chris joined Identity Consult in September 2021 having spent the previous 20+ years within the industry and most recently working for Turner & Townsend and Steel River Cost and Project Management Ltd in the Tees Valley. Chris was also involved in the ITT Process for the Phase 1 elements of the Main Works Civils Contracts for HS2. Chris’ experience extends through all aspects of cost control of capital projects from early feasibility stages through procurement, commercial management, and project handover and close out. Chris has extensive experience across a wide range of sectors including, but not limited to Blue Light, Rail, Industry and Manufacturing, Higher/Further Education, Health, Sports & Leisure, Heritage and Commercial. Christopher joined Identity Consult in April 2021 following months of volunteering at a local COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Christopher left college following his AS Level results and ended up in an apprenticeship at a property developer within the Northeast working towards a Level 3 NVQ in Construction and the Built Environment at Newcastle College. Following this Christopher signed up to Northumbria University to complete a Foundation Built Environment degree eventually progressing along the route of Quantity Surveying.

Clemence started her career in hospitality management working in many different positions all over Europe. She changed her career path by taking her master’s degree in real estate (international) at Northumbria University, where she discovered about quantity surveying.

Before joining Identity Consult Dan worked for several playground and landscaping companies as a Project Manager delivering over 100 projects across the UK. Having then carried out a series of residential refurbishments and conversions for a private landlord Dan decided to undergo his Masters and gain experience as a surveyor, spending the next 2 years’ in the public sector working as an estates surveyor for a local authority.

Greg hails from an ‘on the tools’ background having worked as a Contractor for several years before undertaking his BSc (Hons) in Real Estate. Greg then worked for a leading retail surveying practice in the North East before making the move back to the construction industry.

Before James joined Identity Consult, he worked for independent developers as a freelance Project Manager, working on a variety of projects from housing to student accommodation. During this period James was also managing his families’ development company, at which he successfully managed and delivered a number of executive level housing schemes from inception through to post occupation, meeting potential buyers such as Allen Shearer, Jonjo Shelvey and Chris Ramsey he notes as highlights during this time.

In 2022 James successfully achieved a distinction in this course, adding to his previous Masters in Physics, and has now embarked on his RICS APC, with an aspiration to be charted by the end of 2023.

James describes himself as a keen golfer (hit and miss), triathlete (of limited capability), skier (when uninjured) and rugby fan (reminiscing over years as a player) . Kayleigh joined Identity Consult in July 2018 after working for Turner & Townsend in Leeds. This involved primarily delivering Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England grant funded projects within the arts and heritage sector but she also worked on secondment at Yorkshire Water within the Health and Safety. Prior to project management Kayleigh worked as a museum’s conservator in various different institutions across the UK and abroad. This included working on research projects funded by organisations such as Historic England and providing collections care consultancy services to accredited SME museums in the North East. She has also provided higher education technical support for the Art Conservation Masters programme at Northumbria University. Kayleigh holds a BSc Hons in Natural Sciences; Chemistry with Archaeology and an MA in Conservation.

While born in the UK, Layla grew up in the Middle East and later moved to Australia. He has previously operated as a Project Manager and has worked on the Contracting side, enabling him to draw upon these experiences when dealing with complex project issues, commercial matters and selecting the right procurement strategy to suit particular project requirements. Previously a teacher, holding the post of Head of Computing & Business, Mat is studying his MSc Quantity Surveying at Northumbria University. During Peter’s time at Identity Consult, he has been involved in a wide range of projects including university refurbishment schemes, new build apartment complexes and urban regeneration throughout the North and the rest of the UK. Peter provides both Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveying services for his clients.
History
Peter joined Identity Consult in July 2019 after previously working for Turner & Townsend in Teesside. This primarily involved delivering heritage refurbishment projects for Durham University in and around the Durham Cathedral and Castle UNESCO World Heritage Site. Peter also worked on secondment at Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK, as sole Cost Manager responsible for all construction works being undertaken on the Sunderland Plant. He oversaw the successful delivery of the £6m refurbishment of the existing XL Press machine and the £400k extension to the Body Shop. Another of Peter’s secondments was at AstraZeneca’s New World Headquarters in Cambridge where he was agreeing historic M&E packages.

Pippa joined Identity Consult in 2019 after relocating from Central London where she worked for multinational construction consultancies. Pippa gained multi-sector project management experience across the delivery of landmark heritage buildings, high end hotels, education facilities, airport development and zoo conservation programmes. Prior to joining Identity Consult, Matthew was Regional Education Sector Leader within Turner & Townsend’s North West office and a multi-award winning Project Manager, winning the APM Project Manager of the Year award in 2010 and RICS North West Project of the Year in 2014. Matthew has over 15 years experience and has successfully delivered projects across a wide range of sectors including Education, Local Government, Affordable Housing, Health, Regeneration and Heritage. Previously he has led the redevelopment of Liverpool Central Library (£50m), Edge Hill University’s capital programme (£80m) and the redevelopment of the University of Manchester’s Fallowfield campus (£200m).

Kate joined Identity Consult in January 2022 after working as the Business Quality Lead & Business Support for UK NEQAS, a service providing external quality assurance and education for pathology laboratories across the UK and Internationally. Prior to this, Kate has had roles working as the Quality Lead & Complaints Manager for a large department within Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, Personal Assistant to the Deputy Director of Quality at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, where she also acted as an out of hours and additional PALS Officer.

Outside of work, Kate plays in a Brass Band. Whilst this takes up a number of evenings a week, Kate always finds time to walk her two dogs, Kenny and Oscar, and explore the country with her husband in their campervan.

Mark is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and leads our Employer’s Agent and Cost Management team based in the Sunderland Office. He is experienced in the delivery of new build and refurbishment projects across both Public and Private sectors ranging in value from £100,00 to £80M, under both JCT and NEC Forms of Contract. He has previously operated as a Project Manager and has worked on the Contracting side, enabling him to draw upon these experiences when dealing with complex project issues, commercial matters and selecting the right procurement strategy to suit particular project requirements. Mark also plays a lead role in our training and development, helping staff achieve their ambitions of becoming MRICS qualified.

Mark joined Identity Consult as an Associate Director in 2018 from Gardiner & Theobald where he spend almost 20 years progressing from Graduate to Senior Associate. In 2019 Mark was promoted to Director and joined the Identity Consult Board of Directors.

From his previous roles, he also has expertise in housing development and regeneration and brings these skills together to manage the development of deliverable and commercially viable masterplans for Clients.

Pete joined Identity Consult in 2008 from Erimus Housing where he led the Development Team and prior to that worked for Sunderland’s regeneration agency, Sunderland arc. These roles mean Pete has wide ranging Client-side Project Management and Development Management expertise which he can use to provide additional support to Clients.

Tom joined Identity Consult in 2020 having previously worked for two large global consultancies. He brings 13 years of experience to our team, having delivered complex projects of varying sizes and value in the public sector including healthcare, education, regeneration and heritage, and in private sector commercial offices and fit-out.

Hayley has extensive experience as a senior NHS administrator, executive PA, and team manager. She has also provided project support to multiple NHS contracts.
In her role at IC, Hayley will assist the directors and the wider team, whilst also managing the end-to-end process of preparing and submitting bids or proposals for new business
opportunities. She will also undertake the office manager role for the North West teams.

Holly first joined Identity Consult in January 2024 on a work placement whilst attending college, but officially joined the company as an apprentice in September 2024. Holly has previously studied Construction and the Built Environment Level 3 at SCC City Skills. Holly has always had an interest in construction, inspired by her grandfather.
