Description

Identity Consult have successfully provided a comprehensive multi-disciplinary service to Burnley College through the NEPRO 3 Bloom framework which delivered a new Arts Department Mezzanine project, increasing the capacity of the Arts Department by 50% to provide a large studio space to accommodate increasing demand for Arts courses within the College.

The £415k project forms part of the College’s ongoing capital programme which Identity Consult are also managing to deliver a further two projects comprising of a new Teaching Building and Sports Centre extension. The Teaching Building will create circa 2,500m2 of generic teaching and social learning spaces across 4 floors, with a specialist mock ward area to support the College’s health and nursing course offers. The Sports Centre extension will transform an existing building to provide circa 950m2 of new accommodation to provide a Strength Gym, running track, therapy suite, dance studio and 3 new teaching spaces both due to be operational from December 2021 and will be part funded by the DfE T Levels Capital Fund. The project is targeting a BREEAM Very Good rating.

Identity Consult provided multi-disciplinary project and design team services and were appointed through the OJEU compliant Bloom Framework with a brief to take the project from RIBA Stage 1 to handover.

Liz Williams, Associate Project Manager for Identity Consult “This has been the first project I have worked on since joining Identity Consult and it is rewarding to complete the final handover and see the facility in use by the students. The mezzanine has maximised the arts studios potential and provides a diverse, creative space for Art students in the College. It has been great to be part of such an experienced team who have worked collaboratively to deliver the scheme during such a challenging time, especially given the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic”.
