Castle Leazes

Identity Consult were appointed as part of a multi-disciplinary project team with Space Architects to provide Project Management and Cost Management services for a masterplan for new student accommodation at Castle Leazes, Newcastle.

The masterplan sets the vision for 2,000 new bedspaces which will replace the current outdated student accommodation on this site. As part of the study, Identity Consult reviewed phasing to look at options for retaining current accommodation whilst the replacement facilities were being constructed and also reviewed the cost implications of this option against full demolition, allowing the University to assess the revenue implications associated with a phased approach and make informed business plan decisions.

Full costs plans were prepared for each option and these are now being used to inform the procurement strategy for the future development.
