Newcastle University appointed Identity Consult to Project and Cost Manage the Claremont Complex project early in 2017. Claremont Complex is currently split over three separate neighbouring buildings the Daysh Building, Claremont Tower and Claremont Bridge, the brief from the University is to refurbish all three buildings whilst improving connections to deliver one large multi-use building.
Claremont Complex is currently at an early stage in the design process and is due on site in November 2018, the building is integral to Newcastle University as it houses the Humanities and Social Sciences department, which is the highest income generating department.
Identity Consult have been tasked to establish a clear decant and phasing strategy for the building as it is essential to the University that the University’s full service remains unaffected throughout the duration of the works. The building is set to provide a home for all of the HaSS academics along with multi-functional flexible teaching and social learning space.
The project will be procured on a Design & Build basis using a Two Stage tender approach following European Directives.
