Hope Mills is a 28 unit mixed tenure development consisting of houses, apartments and bungalows for shared ownership and affordable rent. Its location required stone façade and careful detailing to be in keeping with its historic surroundings.
Identity Consult were engaged as the Employer’s Agents in mid 2014 and managed the scheme from inception to completion in May 2016.
The scheme was a land and package deal brought forward by the contractor. Identity Consult assessed the procurement route and recommended direct negotiation whereby the contractor was responsible for coordinating the design and carrying all costs up to the execution of the contract, thus reducing risk and financial exposure for the Registered Provider.
Identity Consult carried out a value engineering exercise that reduced the project cost without impacting on quality.
The project was a success, Identity Consult managed the programme and cost ensuring that the scheme was delivered within budget, incorporated the required specification upgrades for the shared ownership units and delivered in the required HCA funding timescales.
