Identity Consult, working with GSS Architecture, have developed a new campus masterplan for the University of Sunderland. The study reviewed all of the estate of the University to examine ways of generating efficiencies and to identify future development opportunities.
A key aim was to look at ways of improving the connectivity between the City Campus and St Peter’s Campus to create ‘one campus’ and improve vibrancy throughout this extended campus area. As part of this, a review of existing initiatives in the City was undertaken to identify opportunities for partnership working in the City on key projects such as public realm and signage improvements.
A performance review of the existing buildings was also undertaken to ensure that the final framework delivered a sustainable and vibrant campus that delivers an exception student experience.
