Identity Consult were appointed early in 2016 by Robertson Property to Project Manage the refurbishment of two separate, listed, ex-factory buildings to become one 198 unit student residence. Identity Consult have led the Project through pre-construction design development, planning and the project is due to start on site in January 2018.
St. Leonard’s House is located in the city of Lancaster to serve the University’s growing need for student accommodation and is ideally positioned neighbouring Lancaster University’s student union building the Sugarhouse.
St. Leonard’s House will contain facilities designed to encourage a comfortable living environment for the students that will occupy it including a gym, communal kitchen, dining and social area, laundry facilities and each room will have an en-suite bathroom.
The building is sandwiched between four neighbouring properties, requires a road closure and an alteration to St. Leonard’s Gate, the road St. Leonard’s House is located on, therefore obtaining the numerous agreements and licenses for the project has proved to be a challenge that we have overcome.
The project has been procured on a Design & Build basis via a Negotiated tender. The project is to be administered via a JCT Design & Build 2011 contract with client amendments.
