Vaux – Building One

Identity Consult were appointed during the first quarter of 2016 to provide Employer’s Agent services on Vaux Building One for Siglion.

The scheme is the first of a number of buildings to be constructed on the historic former Vaux Brewery site, which has been left a cleared site at the heart of Sunderland’s city centre since 1999. The masterplan for the 5.5 hectare site includes 19 buildings with a range of uses covering commercial, residential, retail and leisure projects.

Building One, which has been designed to BREEAM “Excellent” is a five storey, 60,000 square foot office block, and provides key linkages to the City Centre as well as to the Stadium of Light, the University of Sunderland and the Cultural Quarter.

The building’s design provides maximum flexibility for future tenants, with large spans allowing spacious open plan offices. Discussions are ongoing regarding potential tenants and Identity Consult have been integral in advising the client of when key decisions are needed regarding their requirements such as inclusion of full or partial elements of the CAT B Fit Out proposal.

The project, which is due to complete in June 2018, is in the construction phase and Identity Consult are currently administering the JCT Design and Build Contract.
