We are pleased to announce the recent completion of a management buyout (MBO).
We are pleased to announce the recent completion of a management buyout (MBO).
As many of our partners will know, David Dent, suffered a life threatening stroke in January 2017. Whilst David has made a fantastic recovery, he has re-assessed his future role within Identity Consult and decided to take a step back from the day to day management of the business.
The new management team has been in place and running the business since David’s stroke with the MBO giving us a mechanism to formerly deliver David’s wishes. The new Board of Directors now comprises existing equity Directors Mark Doherty and Pete Johnson, with Matthew Pendergast and Andrew Milnes acquiring a stake in the business. David will remain with Identity Consult and take on the role of Chairman providing a wealth of knowledge, experience and continuity over the coming years.
David Dent said “This represents the end of a chapter but the start of an exciting one in the history of Identity Consult. I have handed over the business to an extremely talented board, led by Mark Doherty who I’ve worked with since inception of our company. They have developed an exciting strategy for the future direction and growth of the business with our Clients, partners and staff, as always, being at the forefront and I look forward to working with them to help realise those ambitions.”
Newly appointed Managing Director Mark Doherty added “Our thanks go to David for the drive and ambition shown in his 13 years at the helm and we look forward to working with David in his new capacity. His expertise will help us nurture our strategic partnerships with clients, Local Authorities and other key partners.
The MBO is the start of an exciting new era with a business plan aimed at facilitating growth, driving innovation and underpinned with excellence in delivery. The Board have worked hard developing and nurturing a team of Consultants who genuinely want to make a difference to the communities in which they work.
We have invested heavily in the digital agenda from both a project management and cost management perspective putting us at the forefront for Building Information Modelling (BIM) and we are also leading key industry initiatives such as offsite manufacture and health and housing partnerships which are helping to deliver the Government’s transformation agenda.”
Identity Consult was founded by David in 2006. Since then, we have grown from having three staff to a team of thirty-three and working on some of the North’s flagship projects, including the Beacon of Light for the Foundation of Light (£20m), the first phase of commercial development of the former Vaux site in Sunderland (£12m), Plateau and Smokehouse residential developments at Smiths Dock in North Shields (£21m), Tees Valley Hospital (£12m), Limelight mixed use residential and health development for Trafford Housing Trust (£20m), the Catalyst Building for Edge Hill University (£26m), together with the refurbishment of Claremont Complex for Newcastle University (£34m), and the Management School (£47m) and Health Innovation Campus (£41m) developments for Lancaster University which are currently being delivered.
We have also recently secured Project Management and Cost Consultancy framework positions for North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC) and NHS North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative, in both instances being ranked in first position.
We very much appreciate the support our existing Client’s have given us over the last 13 years and look forward to working with you on more exciting projects over the coming years.
